11 of the Best Hudson Valley Wedding Venues for Intentional Wedding Experiences
Your wedding day is one of the most special days of your life, and isn’t just about signing on the dotted line, but having an unforgettable experience with the most important people in your life.
As a Hudson Valley wedding photographer, I have been all over the region and have had the chance to go to so many amazing wedding venues. But there are a few that stand out that not only look beautiful in photos, but also create a communal atmosphere that makes your day (or weekend) one that no one will forget.
So, if this is exactly what you are looking for, here are some of the best Hudson Valley wedding venues that you should check out!
Best Wedding Venues in Hudson Valley
Wildflower Farms
Less than two hours from Manhattan, Wildflower Farms feels like a total oasis. Not only do you get a stunning backdrop for your vows, but they also have cottages right on the property that you and your guests can rent to have a full wedding weekend.
This venue is the perfect mix of rustic and luxury with everything you could want for your wedding day. There are both indoor and outdoor options for your wedding, with the meadows and mountains in the distance creating an unforgettable landscape.
Plus, they even have spa treatments, yoga classes, and farm-fresh ingredients, so this is a great option for something a bit more relaxing or if you want to create a whole weekend experience for you and your guests!
Hotel Lilien
If the Catskills are calling your name, Hotel Lilien is such a unique option for your wedding. The historic hotel has been preserved and renovated to create a slightly retro and welcoming feeling for a dream wedding.
The hotel has 22 guest rooms so it is perfect for a more intimate wedding, or if you only have a handful of guests coming in from out of town. They offer both indoor and outdoor options for your wedding, but the meadow just can’t be beat.
Located right behind the Lodge, this is the perfect place to be surrounded by nature all around while still having the option of an indoor reception just steps away. You can also cross the wooded path and have a reception under the stars on the Side Lawn!
The venue can accommodate anywhere from a dozen guests to 140, so there is a lot of flexibility in the size. Regardless of how big your wedding is, the scenery and atmosphere will not disappoint.
Basilica Hudson
One of my favorite things about Basilica Hudson (besides being right in Hudson and extremely easy to get to) is how open and flexible the space truly is. This venue is an industrial-style venue that has 10,000 sq ft of indoor and outdoor space for you and your guests to use.
Not only can you host over 300 guests for your wedding here, and it is pet-friendly, but because of the open layout of the warehouse-style space, there is so much room to play around with.
The indoor space has beautiful brick walls and massive windows, but you’re able to really create whatever vibe and atmosphere you want with your decorations. It really is a blank slate, and for people looking not to travel far for their wedding, it is an incredible option!
Scribner's Lodge
If a classic, alpine-style lodge is more your style, Scribner’s Lodge should definitely be on your list. But, with 11 luxury cabins to stay at and incredible views around every corner, you won’t be sacrificing anything when it comes to creating your dream wedding day.
With both indoor and outdoor options, you’ll have the perfect space regardless of the season. They have some smaller areas if you are planning a more intimate elopement, but also have plenty of space for weddings with over 100 people.
Depending on the season, they even have a pool or an ice rink that makes the perfect addition to any wedding weekend!
Hutton Brickyards
You can’t talk about the Hudson Valley without having at least one venue right on the river, and that is exactly what you can get with Hutton Brickyards. This venue truly feels like your own private retreat and not only can you host an incredible wedding here, but they also have everything from archery, kayaking, and badminton to wine tastings, karaoke, and tarot card readings.
When it comes to your wedding day, there are dedicated spaces for you to get ready and five different options for your ceremony and reception spaces. You are just steps away from the water and get incredible views from wherever you choose!
The venue also has 31 private cabins for you and your guests, as well as their historic Cottage, which is the perfect place for you and your partner to celebrate this new beginning.
Inness
Inness creates the perfect meeting point of luxury and minimalism. The venue is also a luxury hotel with individual cabins that make you feel instantly at home. Plus, the views of the surrounding Catskills are breathtaking!
For your wedding, they have a dedicated barn space that is beautiful in its simplicity. With its rustic aesthetic and clean, wood walls, it is almost a blank space that can be transformed into whatever you want without having to worry about clashing with the natural beauty.
The venue can accommodate up to 160 guests in the barn and it also has doors that open right up to a field with sweeping views of the Catskills to create a dream backdrop for your wedding!
Foxfire Mountain House
If your dream is to have a full wedding retreat with your closest friends and family, Foxfire Mountain House is the exact place for you. They check everything you could need off your list for an incredible weekend getaway!
Their full wedding retreats include accommodations, a welcome/rehearsal dinner, and breakfast for 38 guests. The venue itself is also able to accommodate up to 140 people for your wedding so whether you want something more intimate or want to have a big party, your wedding can be exactly how you imagined.
They even have a post-reception late-night party for your guests staying on the property, and all of the food for your wedding is created from scratch with their culinary team, so you get to have exactly what you want!
Glynwood
Glynwood is not only a beautiful wedding venue, but it is also a fully functioning regenerative farm and carbon-neutral event space. You get mountain, lake, and farm views at your wedding, and there are 19 guest rooms for you and your guests to stay overnight.
The 1920s Fieldstone House is absolutely beautiful, and the boathouse is the perfect spot to slip away for some intimate couples portraits. Then you can dance the night away under the stars in their tented patio.
If sustainability is important to you and your partner, this is such a great option to have a venue that prioritizes the environment without missing out on the beauty of the area!
Cedar Lakes Estate
Ever want to go back to your summer camp days as a kid? That is exactly what you can do at Cedar Lakes Estate…but make it luxury!
Cedar Lakes Estate is a stunning property with beautiful mountain views and a lake for you and your guests to enjoy. They specialize in full wedding weekends where you and your guests have exclusive access to the entire property.
After some welcome cocktails and living out your summer camp days with group activities, your wedding day will feel like its own magical dream come true.
Whether you want to tie the knot in their Glasshouse, right on the mountain, steps away from the lake on a restored 90-year old deck, or surrounded by 15,000 twinkle lights, you truly cannot go wrong with any choice you make here.
Plus, they have multiple indoor and outdoor options to choose from for your cocktail hour and reception that rival the beauty of any other venue!
Gather Greene
Gather Greene is a nature retreat that truly feels like you are being transported into another world. This is another venue option where you and your guests get exclusive access to the entire venue for your wedding weekend.
Whether you are looking for an open-air ceremony, to have the mountains at your back, or to be completely surrounded in the woods, you’ll find what you are looking for here! The open-air Pavilion gives you and your guests the perfect space to celebrate the night away with the beauty of the Catskills just steps away.
The venue itself can accommodate up to 250 guests for your reception, and the accommodations can host up to 34 guests for the weekend!
Lion Rock Farm
Finally, located in Connecticut and right on the edge of the Hudson Valley is Lion Rock Farm. This venue is home to hundreds of acres of farmland and rolling hills. The views here are just incredible, and with how open the space is, there are plenty of options when it comes to your wedding setup.
The venue also has 4 guest houses that can accommodate up to 28 guests, so whether you are having a more intimate wedding or want to have your wedding parties close by for the weekend, you’ll be able to stay right on site!
If you do want a bigger wedding, the venue can accommodate up to 200 guests. Since the venue is so large, though, there are plenty of spots for you and your partner to slip off to for a more private moment or to take some portraits together before celebrating with your friends and family!
